What You Will Do:

We are looking for uniquely talented engineers to champion our key transformation shifts and identify new ways to advance Structural engineering. Pratt & Whitneys Hot Section Engineering (HSE) team is growing in Asheville NC and we are seeking experienced creative and motivated Structures engineers to analyze and design the next generation of commercial and military airfoil hardware.

The Structures engineer will utilize state of the art analytical methods to validate the structural integrity of Hot Section airfoil (commercial and military).The engineer will be part of an integrated product team with responsibilities for executing FEMs performing living analyses and writing technical reports. Additional responsibilities include communicating technical progress and status to various program groups senior management as well as internal / external candidate will also be a member of the broader HSE community and support strategic development and growth of Structures discipline health.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• BS in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5 years of engineering or aerospace experience or 3 years with an advanced degree
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams
• Experience including analytical methods (FEA) hand calculations and spreadsheet methods
• Experience analyzing strength stress deflection vibration fatigue life and damage tolerance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Analytical problem solving and trending skills
• Proficiency with ANSYS APDL and / or Workbench
• Experience working with HSE airfoil Structures standards
• Advanced knowledge of LCF TMF HCF & FM failure modes
• Familiarity with P&W Structures tools and procedures
• Strong communication interpersonal time management and organizational skills

This position is classified as:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 86800 USD - 165200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
