Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Acoustician to join our Acoustic team. This is a remote part-time role (20 hours per week) that will be aligned with our Denver CO office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes advanced scientific principles theories practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Interprets and records data conducts analyses compares findings to relevant studies and local provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
  • Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
  • Plans and organizes project studies.
  • Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
  •  Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
  • May oversee the work of junior level staff.

Technical responsibilities include:

  • Manage and deliver noise analysis tasks for major transportation construction energy and development projects across the U.S.
  • Perform and supervise predictive analyses with spreadsheet-based tools and commercially available software.
  • Perform and supervise acoustical measurements noise surveys and investigations.
  • Research and review regulatory criteria at the local state and national level.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in acoustics engineering physics mathematics or environmental policy (or closely related fields).
  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in acoustical consulting noise control engineering building acoustics and vibration.
  • Due to the nature of work and clientele US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in acoustics engineering physics mathematics or environmental policy.
  • Board certification by the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.
  • Prior business development experience is desired.
  • Familiarity with Datakustik CadnaA.
