Job Summary

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced senior accounting professional to oversee and support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing construction-focused organization. This role will serve as a key financial leader partnering closely with executive leadership and the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting strong internal controls and efficient accounting processes.
The ideal candidate will bring deep accounting expertise including construction accounting experience and will be comfortable operating in a well-established environment with proven systems and procedures. This position serves as an important bridge between operational accounting functions and executive financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations ensuring accuracy efficiency and compliance with company policies
  • Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights to leadership
  • Oversee general ledger activity account reconciliations and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations
  • Collaborate with the Controller and executive leadership on budgeting forecasting and financial planning initiatives
  • Monitor job costing work-in-progress reporting revenue recognition and other construction-specific accounting functions
  • Assist with external audits tax preparation and financial reviews
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements while maintaining the integrity of established systems and workflows
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required
  • CPA designation preferred
  • 7 years of progressive accounting experience with significant experience in construction accounting
  • Strong understanding of job costing percentage-of-completion accounting work-in-progress schedules and construction financial reporting
  • Experience managing complex accounting processes in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple levels of leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Required Skills:
