Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Specialist to join our team at VigorCare Pediatric Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information security and a passion for protecting sensitive data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect the organizations systems and data from potential threats
- Monitor network and system activity for any suspicious behavior and investigate any security breaches
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends and make recommendations for improvements to our security protocols
- Collaborate with the IT department to implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Conduct security training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of security awareness
- Respond to security incidents and provide timely and effective resolution
- Maintain and update disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Work with external vendors and partners to ensure the security of their systems and data when connected to our organizations network
- Participate in the development and implementation of new systems and applications ensuring that security measures are in place from the beginning
- Communicate security risks and issues to senior management and make recommendations for mitigation strategies
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Security or a related field
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks and regulations such as HIPAA HITECH and PCI-DSS
- Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls intrusion detection systems and vulnerability scanners
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP CISM or CISA are preferred but not required
