MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Iowa teaching certificate.
  2. Three(3) years of successful teaching experience.
  3. Previous experience in designing and delivering professional development.
  4. Active experience in curriculum development facilitation of professional learning and demonstrated knowledge of innovative best practices.
  5. Knowledge of best practices and current research in the areas of curriculum instruction and assessment.
  6. Proven ability to work with diverse groups including teachers administrators and students.
  7. Demonstrated understanding of key processes in a Professional Learning Community or collaborative teams
  8. Strong organizational skills and effective oral & written communication skills.
  9. Advanced computer skills to include but not limited to Google Drive.
  10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Director of Secondary Teaching & Learning

JOB GOAL: In collaboration with the Director of Secondary Teaching & Learning provide leadership in the development and implementation of the districts curriculum cycle.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate or co-facilitate the comprehensive development and implementation of the districts instructional programming including the adoption of standards the creation of progress reporting tools and other supporting curricular documents and review of data to inform course recommendations.
  2. Work with administrators curriculum leaders and teacher committees to ensure horizontal and vertical continuity and articulation of the assigned instructional program areas.
  3. Meet regularly with the assigned areas curriculum leaders to plan PLC professional development and curriculum review experiences; disseminate updates on the implementation of district and building goals; and gather feedback to continuously improve staff and student experiences.
  4. Audit and monitor the implementation of the curriculum following the review process. Develop feedback loops with teachers to continuously improve the experience for teachers and students.
  5. Facilitate the development of high-quality common assessmemnts development and support teams in using results to revise curriculum and instruction.
  6. Coordinate the selection and adoption of new instructional materials to support the assigned departments instructional programming through vendor meetings and professional development experiences.
  7. Support digital resource/license management for the assigned departments as needed.
  8. Develop budget recommendations in collaboration with key stakeholders and the Business Office to coordinate purchasing and payment procedures.
  9. Collaborate with instructional coaches and other support staff for the Teaching & Learning department to support professional learning and promote consistency related to instruction assessment teacher effectiveness and improved student learning.
  10. Collaborate with district and building leadership coaches and mentors to support teachers with the implementation of district and building goals.
  11. Regularly update our curriculum documentation on the public domain and the intranet.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including computers phones and photocopiers.
  • EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy on the Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
