Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Quality Engineering Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on SDET / Quality Engineering Engineer with 8 years of overall QE and test automation experience to drive quality initiatives across web applications APIs and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and Python with TypeScript experience considered a strong advantage.
This role requires strong technical proficiency in end-to-end test automation API validation database testing test case design and CI/CD integration. The candidate should be capable of independently driving automation strategies while collaborating closely with developers product managers and quality engineering teams.Key Responsibilities

- Design develop and maintain robust automation frameworks for UI API and backend testing.
- Create scalable and maintainable automated test suites using Playwright and Python.
- Automate end-to-end testing across web applications and services.
- Develop and execute API automation tests for RESTful services.
- Perform backend and database validations using SQL queries and data integrity checks.
- Design comprehensive test scenarios test cases and test data based on business requirements.
- Participate in requirement analysis sprint planning and defect triaging activities.
- Identify automation opportunities and improve test coverage across applications.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
- Analyze test execution results identify root causes and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Define and implement quality metrics reporting and automation best practices.
- Mentor junior testers and contribute to overall QE process improvements.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
- 8 years of overall Quality Engineering / Testing experience.
- 5 years of hands-on test automation experience.
- Strong expertise in Playwright automation framework.
- Advanced programming skills in Python.
- Strong experience in UI / Front-End Automation Testing.
- Hands-on experience in API automation and validation.
- Experience in Database testing SQL query development and data verification.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).
- Experience designing and executing manual and automated test cases.
- Hands-on experience with defect management and test management tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with TypeScript and Playwright TypeScript-based frameworks.
- Experience with BDD frameworks and test automation design patterns.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps GitHub Actions Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Experience with cloud-based testing environments.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
