SUMMARY This position requires accounting and analytical skills to perform general accounting functions in order to contribute to the efficient operation of the school office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in accounting or business related field; a minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience
Type a minimum of 50 words per minute
Knowledge of all facets of bookkeeping including coding of invoices purchase order system budgeting and financial statement preparation
Competent in Quicken or Quickbooks Microsoft Office Suite software and Google.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions policies and procedures
Attentive to details emphasizing accuracy a sense of accountability and display integrity in bookkeeping activities
Self-motivation ability to work effectively without constant or direct supervision ability to multi-task and work with a team to accomplish goals
Good communication and organizational skills
Preference given if trained in efinance reporting
Good moral character and understands the concept of confidentiality and supports guidelines concerning the release of public information
GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Receipt and deposit all fees collected (primarily activities funds)
Perform daily bookkeeping duties
Knowledge of substitute teacher management system including weekly reporting to the Central Office in an accurate and timely manner
Knowledge of time clock management system including weekly/monthly reporting to the Central Office in an accurate and timely manner
Assist in preparation of budgets and other reports as directed by MSD Chief Financial Officer or school principal
Cooperates with other departments as needed to supply information or assist with a project
Assist in the collection and distribution of mail as needed
Assist with the ordering of supplies as needed
Assumes responsibility for professional development as needed
Complies with and supports school district and departmental regulations and policies
Assist building staff with travel plans to ensure policies and procedures are followed
Other duties as assigned by the school principal
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements - Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computer hardware and software phone system office equipment etc. Must have transportation and be able to drive between campuses if needed.
Intelligence - Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Language Ability - Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence technical manuals trade journals etc.; requires the ability to prepare reports forms system documentation etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of grammar.
Verbal Aptitude - Requires the ability to record and deliver information to explain procedures to give oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must possess the ability to speak to people with poise voice control and confidence. May be required to deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences.
