Additional Details: Provide support for students of varying ages and ability levels depending on district need.
Requirement: Current Maryland School Psychologist License or eligibility to obtain one through MSDE.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated empathetic and experienced in-person School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students collaborate with educators and families and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting offering evaluation consultation intervention and prevention services that support students academic social emotional and behavioral well-being.
- Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students cognitive emotional and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with educators parents and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide counseling and interventions to support students emotional and mental health needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students academic and behavioral challenges.
- Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes.
- Promote positive mental health through prevention programs crisis intervention and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program
- Valid MD state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist
- Educator Certificate (if applicable)
- Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting.
- Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
- Strong skills in psychological testing counseling and intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to cultural competence and diversity.
- Passion for working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
- Ability to work independently manage time effectively and adapt to changing needs
