Position Summary

This Crude Oil Scheduler position is located at Marathon Petroleum Companys corporate headquarters in Findlay OH. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating the safe efficient and cost-effective movement of crude oil across pipelines terminals rail marine and truck transportation networks to support refinery/commercial operations. This role manages nominations inventory positions receipts deliveries and transportation schedules while ensuring reliable refinery feedstock supply and minimizing operational risk. The successful candidate will work closely with trading optimization refinery operations accounting risk management and external business partners to execute crude supply strategies resolve logistical challenges and identify transportation and inventory optimization opportunities. Strong analytical skills commercial awareness and the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment are essential. This position requires expertise in logistics and supply chain management inventory control scheduling systems and data analysis along with a commitment to continuous improvement operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Nominates and schedules pipeline waterborne truck rail and/or delivery movements through use of propriety and third-party scheduling systems. Monitors inventories and shipping schedules daily to ensure that supply meets demand.

• Communicates and verifies planned movements with all stakeholders including but not limited to traders optimizers internal and external counterparties customers suppliers producers marketers terminals vessels and pipelines.

• Provides timely and accurate inventory position information to Trading Pricing Marketing Trucking and Supervision.

• Responds to unexpected events making contingency arrangements to minimize disruption of supply.

• Initiates and coordinates movements independently through Marathons distribution channels based on a given plan. Identifies and communicates constraints and begins to identify optimization opportunities on their desk.

• Gains knowledge of the costs of transportation associated with the movements on their desk. Learns the regional supply picture.

• Manages more than one desk fluently. Trains others to take cover desk.

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu.
• Two (2) or more years of industry-related experience required.
