Job Summary
About the Position:
As the Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Processor you will ensure loan submission packages are SBA compliant and you will have the responsibility of securing an SBA guaranty on loans. You will support the end-to-end loan process of SBA applications from collecting documentation to final preparation of submission packages working across all functions of SBA loan origination to closing. Your success in the role will require prioritizing strong professional and productive relationships high level of accuracy and ethical standards and continuous process improvement.
What You Will Do:
- Prepares loan packages for submission to the SBA via its E-Tran system ensuring compliance within the most current SBA guidelines including but not limited to:
- Collecting and reviewing required application items and documents for underwriting and closing
- Constructing submission packages for SBA Operations
- Coordinating due diligence requirements
- Maintaining accurate pipeline and audit records
- Assisting in corrections to ensure an SBA guaranty is obtained
- May support Lenders in:
- Qualifying SBA loan opportunities to ensure they meet the internal guidelines and SBA SOP
- Preparing proposals reviews and routine correspondence both internally and with customers
- Answering customer calls and messages
- Audits work for accuracy continuous improvement and completion by:
- Performing daily review of the good faith deposit report and following up with necessary parties as needed
- Staying current on the most recently published SBA SOP and internal requirements for eligibility
- Assisting in ensuring an updated pipeline report
- Reviewing processes and recommending changes to create efficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned
What Were Looking For:
- A minimum of one year of experience processing or closing consumer mortgage or commercial loans; commensurate banking experience in customer service loan servicing or account operations will also be considered.
- Understanding or previous experience with SBA Standard Operations Procedure (SOP) strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of employees management and third parties.
- Ability to meet strict timelines and service level agreements in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and explore solutions.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in PC skills and ability to quickly learn new systems; previous experience with nCino highly preferred.
- E-Tran experience is a plus
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Working Conditions/Demands:
- Professional office setting.
- Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
- Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
