Position Summary
The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center founded in 1975 is a National Cancer Institute ( NCI )-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Centers mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research treatment training and outreach. This Research Assistant (RA) is a full-time position dedicated to supporting sarcoma registry enrollment tissue procurement research and emerging clinical trial efforts. The RA will serve as the primary point of contact for patient identification approach screening and informed consent for tissue banking registry and specimen-based sarcoma research protocols as well as new early-phase clinical trials. This role requires close collaboration with surgical oncology pathology and research teams to facilitate consent and procurement process. The RA will additionally support several research efforts for the non-profit organization Rare Cancer Research Foundation. These efforts will involve support biobanking and PRISM efforts novel individualized cancer testing for rare cancers.
