SAP APO Consultant

Our client has acquired a business and is transitioning 65 applications including the SAP landscape covered by these roles from the acquired businesss legacy landscape into its own. Transition is about to begin. These roles will carry their process areas through the full arc: knowledge transfer and transition of the applications into the clients target environment stabilization once they are live there and steady state run with defined SLAs runbooks and clean documentation.

The delivery model is global. These consultants will work daily with CGI and client transition and application teams in other regions and time zones and with third party vendors supporting the surrounding applications. Candidates need to be effective in that setting: clear written communication disciplined handoffs and the willingness to flex hours for overlap when the work requires it.

This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States however Dallas Texas is highly preferred.

Due to the nature of the work and in compliance with federal regulations an active security clearance is required for this position.

You will support the clients advanced planning landscape in SAP APO covering demand planning supply network planning and production planning and detailed scheduling. The first job is taking over the APO instance through transition then confirming it its CIF integration and liveCache are stable in the target environment and producing plans the business trusts. APO is a mature platform with a thinning talent pool so depth on the current product matters more than breadth. Aerospace supply chains carry long horizons and constrained suppliers which makes planning accuracy a business-critical issue.

Configure and support SAP APO Demand Planning (DP): planning areas planning books macros forecast models lifecycle planning and release to SNP.
Configure and support Supply Network Planning (SNP): heuristics optimizer CTM deployment and TLB as used by the client.
Support Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS): heuristics scheduling strategies pegging and the planning board.
Maintain the Core Interface (CIF): integration models queue monitoring error resolution and master data consistency between ECC and APO.
Monitor and tune liveCache performance and planning run jobs.
Work with planners to interpret planning results resolve supply issues and improve forecast accuracy.
Lead the transition of your process area into the clients target environment: take knowledge transfer document current state configuration and interfaces validate migrated configuration and data and confirm interfaces work end to end.
Stabilize and run: establish steady state support processes write runbooks and knowledge transfer documentation and move the area to defined SLAs.
Collaborate daily with distributed CGI and client teams across regions and time zones and with third party vendors on connected applications.

8 years of SAP APO experience across at least two of DP SNP and PP/DS with at least one full lifecycle implementation.
Strong hands on experience with CIF administration and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of ECC PP and MM integration with APO.
Experience with liveCache monitoring and planning run optimization.
Experience on an M&A integration carve out or application transition program including the shift from transition through stabilization into run.
Proven ability to work with globally distributed teams and flex hours for time zone overlap.
Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher preferred).
U.S. person under ITAR with awareness of how export control affects planning data shared with suppliers and across sites.
Available for hybrid work and client site travel. Dallas TX preferred; candidates may be located anywhere in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Aerospace and defense or discrete manufacturing industry experience with long lead and sole source supplier constraints.
Exposure to SAP IBP (Demand Supply or Response and Supply) or S/4HANA embedded PP/DS.
Experience with Global ATP or SAP TM.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113400.00 $276200.00.
