Tier 1: Journeyman Technician
Certifications: CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep (CCS) & CSIA Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician (CDET) well help you get certified
Base Salary: $38000
Commission: 3.0%
Target Annual Quota: $400000
Expected Annual Take-Home: $50000

Tier 2: Junior Technician
Certifications: Adds NFI Wood & NFI Gas
Base Salary: $44000
Commission: 4.0%
Target Annual Quota: $600000
Expected Annual Take-Home: $68000

Tier 3: Master Technician
Certifications: Adds Certified Chimney Professional (CCP) NFI Pellet and NFI Hearth Design
Base Salary: $50000
Commission: 5.0%
Target Annual Quota: $1000000
Expected Annual Take-Home: $100000

Master Technicians are also recognized with specialized uniform branding to reflect their elite status.

Get Paid to Get Certified

We invest in your growth from day one:

$500 bonus for passing entry-level certifications (CSIA CCS or CDET)
$1000 bonus for passing advanced/specialty certifications (CCP NFI modules)
Company pre-pays approved certification courses and exam fees
Annual certification maintenance stipend: $250 (Junior) or $500 (Master)

Ways to Earn Beyond the Job

Sales Referral (introduce another tech who closes a sale): 2%
Lead Generation (new customer completes a FIRE visit): $50
Employee Referral (hired onboarded completes 90-day probation): $2000
5-Star Review mentioning you by name: $20

This is a field sales role unlike anything else in the trades. Youll run our proprietary FIRE Evaluation Process in homeowners attics chimneys and crawlspaces using real diagnostic tools to uncover safety issues then translate what you find into clear confident recommendations. If youre driven by performance love the idea of being paid what youre worth and want a structured path to advance your skills and your paycheck this is built for you.

No prior experience or certifications required to start. Well train you certify you and pay you to grow.

What Youll Do

Run Top Hats FIRE Evaluation Process on every job using diagnostic tools to identify structural thermal and code issues
Present homeowners with clear easy-to-understand options (Good / Better / Best) so they can make an informed decision
Build and manage your own pipeline follow up persistently and professionally with homeowners who havent yet said yes
Generate your own leads through referrals reviews and word of mouth in your community
Document every job thoroughly and accurately photos inspection findings and proposals before you leave the property
Show up daily for a 45-minute training and role-play block to keep sharpening your skills
Climb ladders navigate roof pitches and work in tight attic and crawlspace environments as part of the job


What Were Looking For

No education or experience required well teach you everything
Comfort using tablets CRM software and digital diagnostic tools
Valid drivers license with a clean insurable driving record
Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs climb ladders and work in attics crawlspaces and on rooftops
A competitive drive and willingness to commit to daily training and skill-building
Strong communication skills and the confidence to guide customers through a decision
