Job Summary
Mintahoe Catering & Events is seeking a motivated relationship-focused Sales Coordinator to join our growing sales team.
This position is designed as a developmental pathway into a Sales Professional role. The successful candidate will learn Mintahoes venues catering services sales processes and client experience standards while supporting the full sales lifecycle. Through hands-on training mentorship and exposure to all aspects of venue and catering sales employees will gradually assume increased responsibility for lead management venue tours proposals bookings and client relationships.
Our goal is to develop future Sales Professionals by providing the tools knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career in hospitality sales while creating exceptional experiences for our clients.
This position offers the opportunity to work with premier venues exceptional culinary experiences and an experienced team dedicated to creating unforgettable events throughout Minnesota.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Management & Client Support
- Respond promptly and professionally to incoming sales inquiries.
- Assist in qualifying leads and identifying client needs.
- Maintain timely and consistent follow-up with prospective clients.
- Support clients throughout the sales process while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Learn effective sales techniques and relationship-building strategies.
- Maintain accurate client information and activity records within CRM systems.
Client Consultations & Venue Tours
- Assist with venue tours tastings and client consultations.
- Learn how to guide clients through venue selection and event-planning decisions.
- Present venue features catering services and event offerings.
- Observe and participate in relationship-driven sales conversations.
- Gradually assume responsibility for conducting tours and consultations independently.
- Develop expertise in Mintahoe venues services and event capabilities.
Proposals Contracts & Bookings
- Assist in preparing customized proposals and event packages.
- Support contract preparation and booking documentation.
- Learn pricing structures packages and service offerings.
- Maintain organized and accurate sales records.
- Assist with event bookings and administrative processes.
- Develop an understanding of revenue generation and sales performance metrics.
Venue Promotion & Marketing Support
- Promote Mintahoe venues catering services bakery offerings and related hospitality services.
- Capture photos and videos at events tastings venue tours and open houses.
- Assist with social media and marketing content creation.
- Collaborate with marketing and venue teams to gather content and client success stories.
- Help identify opportunities to showcase Mintahoes venues food service and client experience.
- Support open houses showcases and promotional events.
Team & Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Venue Managers Operations Culinary Finance and Marketing teams.
- Ensure accurate communication and smooth transitions throughout the sales process.
- Participate in sales meetings training sessions and team initiatives.
- Assist with administrative and logistical support as needed.
- Foster positive working relationships across departments.
Networking & Community Engagement
- Attend networking events venue showcases industry functions and community events.
- Build relationships with vendors event professionals and referral partners.
- Represent Mintahoe professionally within the hospitality and event community.
- Develop an understanding of local market trends and industry opportunities.
- Support efforts to generate referrals and repeat business.
Professional Development
- Learn about Mintahoes venues services pricing structures and sales standards.
- Develop strong time-management organization and follow-through habits.
- Build confidence in client interactions presentations and sales conversations.
- Demonstrate initiative in learning and professional growth.
- Gradually assume greater ownership of bookings and client relationships as knowledge and skills develop.

Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- An associate or bachelors degree in hospitality marketing communications business event management or a related field is preferred.
Experience
- One or more years of experience in hospitality catering events customer service venue management sales marketing or a related field preferred.
- Experience with CRM systems event management software HubSpot Canva social media platforms or related tools is a plus.
- Previous client-facing experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects or priorities is beneficial.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods during venue tours networking functions and events. Employees may occasionally be required to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds. The role requires movement throughout event spaces both indoor and outdoor.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a fast-paced hospitality-driven environment. Employees may be required to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. The role requires flexibility and adaptability based on business needs.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. Work schedules vary based on business and event needs. Evening weekend and holiday availability may be required.
Travel Requirements
Travel between venue locations and client meetings within the Twin Cities area as needed.
