Safety Specialist
Job Summary
ASafety Specialist position is available at Garney. The Safety Specialist supports the implementation and execution of jobsite safety programs to ensure a safe work environment. This role promotes safety culture through training inspections hazard identification and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The position serves as a field safety resource responsible for education guidance and proactive incident prevention.
- Perform jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Track and follow up on corrective actions to support incident prevention
- Assist in developing safe work plans task hazard analyses and site-specific procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs
- Deliver toolbox talks safety briefings and training to field teams
- Serve as a safety resource for employees and project leadership
- Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and accountability
- Maintain safety documentation reporting and records
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety - Preferred
- 2 years of construction experience and 1 year in a safety role (3 years preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 standards and construction safety practices
- Strong communication organization and training skills
- Ability to identify risks make decisions and take proactive action
- OSHA 30 500 EM385 CHST or equivalent; CPR/First Aid Trainer; OSHA 510 (within 6 months) - Required
- OSHA 500 CHST or other relevant safety certifications - Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish - Preferred
- Salary - $85000-$110000
