Safety Inspector - Pipeline & Meter Station Construction
Location: Salt Lake City UT
Start Date: August
Duration: Spring 2027
Scope: Pipeline construction and meter station work
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Inspector to support a pipeline and meter station construction project in Salt Lake City Utah. This is a position requiring a hands-on safety professional to monitor field activities enforce compliance and support a strong safety culture across all phases of construction.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety inspections across pipeline and meter station work sites
- Monitor contractor and crew compliance with OSHA regulations and client/company safety standards
- Identify document and help resolve safety hazards and non-conformances
- Conduct toolbox talks safety orientations and JSA/JHA reviews with crews
- Investigate incidents near-misses and safety concerns; complete required documentation and reporting
- Maintain accurate daily reports inspection logs and compliance records
- Coordinate with construction management and client representatives on safety matters
- Ensure proper use of PPE equipment and adherence to permit/work procedures
- Support emergency response planning and execution as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of safety inspection experience on pipeline and/or heavy civil construction projects
- Experience with meter station construction preferred
- OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 500/510 a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of DOT/PHMSA regulations preferred
- Ability to travel/relocate to Salt Lake City UT for the duration of the project
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
