Position will report to the Director of EHS responsible for operations in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.
Environmental Health & Safety Program Management
- Support the implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of environmental health and safety management systems.
- Ensure site programs effectively minimize risks to employees the environment and the surrounding community.
- Partners with site leaders engineering teams facilities personnel and other stakeholders to integrate EHS requirements into business operations.
- Develop implement and maintain EHS policies procedures and standards.
- Monitor EH&S performance metrics and provide regular reporting to site leadership.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local environmental health safety fire and building code regulations.
- Track interpret and assess emerging EH&S legislation and regulatory requirements and implement compliance actions as needed.
- Serve as a liaison with local regional and federal regulatory agencies inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Manage environmental permitting requirements including air wastewater and hazardous waste compliance activities.
- Support compliance audits inspections recordkeeping and reporting activities.
Incident Management and Risk Reduction
- Lead and oversee environmental health and safety incident investigations.
- Conduct root cause analyses and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed effectively.
- Analyze incident data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Communicate investigation findings and recommendations to management and affected stakeholders.
Technical EHS Support
- Provide leadership and technical guidance for site programs including:
- New Chemical Reviews
- Hazard Communication
- Benchmark Gensuite Environmental Health & Safety Systems
- Management of Change (MoC)
- Fire and Building Code Reviews
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) / Control of Hazardous Energy
- Confined Space Program
- Powered Industrial Truck Program
- Crane and Hoist Safety
- Fall Protection and Working at Heights
- Accident and Incident Investigation
- Tool Installation Design Reviews
- Hazardous Waste Determination
- Environmental Permitting (Air Water and Waste)
Training and Employee Engagement
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Promote employee engagement and a proactive safety culture through effective communication and collaboration.
- Communicate EHS requirements expectations and performance results to all levels of the organization.
Site Assessments and Project Support
- Conduct routine inspections of laboratories cleanrooms office spaces support infrastructure and auxiliary equipment areas.
- Participate in design reviews and construction projects to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated during planning and implementation.
- Support assigned EHS projects and provide timely updates to management regarding progress risks and escalations.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination across site functions.
Emergency Response
- Participate as a member of the sites Emergency Response Team.
- Support emergency preparedness programs and respond to emergencies including occasional after-hours situations when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene Environmental Science Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience
- 5 years of professional experience in Environmental Health & Safety within semiconductor manufacturing research and development high-technology or related industrial environments.
- Experience managing EHS compliance programs and regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and conducting compliance audits.
- Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of OSHA Cal/OSHA EPA hazardous waste regulations fire codes and building code requirements
- Experience with environmental permitting programs including air wastewater and hazardous waste management.
- Understanding of management systems risk assessment methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with Benchmark Gensuite modules for incident management compliance tracking and management of change preferred.

- Ability to walk and stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders stairs and scaffolding.
- Ability to recognize and respond quickly to alarms warning signals and hazardous situations.
- Ability to respond rapidly during emergencies and assist others during evacuations.
- Visual capability to identify and safely respond to workplace hazards.
- Working Conditions
- Extended periods of standing walking bending kneeling reaching squatting and lifting.
- Combination of office laboratory cleanroom and industrial work environments.
- Occasional work in confined spaces and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions when supporting outdoor operations.
- Regular interaction with machinery powered industrial vehicles and industrial equipment.
- Work near electrical chemical radiation and mechanical hazards while following established safety procedures.
- Work in environments with elevated noise levels from equipment alarms and facility systems.

- Valid drivers license required.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
