Road Mechanic

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Road Mechanic to maintain diagnose and repair our fleet of heavy trucks digger derricks bucket trucks trailers and specialized equipment used in powerline construction and maintenance. This role provides on-the-road (field) service keeping crews operational and safe across job sites. Candidates with hands-on knowledge of the powerline/utility construction industry are strongly preferred though not required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Required:
• 2 years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic or equivalent technical training/certification
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems diesel engines and heavy truck electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues both in-shop and in the field
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred (not required):

• Experience working on digger derricks bucket trucks or other powerline/utility construction equipment
• Familiarity with the powerline or utility construction industry and its equipment demands
• CDL license
• ASE certifications (Diesel Hydraulics Electrical)
• Experience with DOT inspection requirements

This role does require the physical ability to climb bend stoop kneel crouch reach stand walk push pull lift grasp and repetitive motions.
