At Legacy Mount Hood Joint Commission certified as a Primary Stroke Center the 29-bed emergency department remodeled in 2010 is a leading-edge 24/7 facility that handles everything from minor medical issues in the 8 bed Ambulatory Care Unit to acute emergencies. Caring for 50000 patients yearly in Portlands east county suburbs approximately 30% of whom are pediatric patients the highly skilled staff treats both children and adults in a compassionate family-friendly environment and coordinates seamlessly with Randall Childrens Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and Legacy Emanuels centers for traumatic injuries and advanced specialty care.

• Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit

• Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee

• Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse

• Performs all aspects of the nursing process:

  • Assesses analyzes plans implements and evaluates patient care

• Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer.

Education:

• As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.

Experience:

• One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content curriculum and duration.
• Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.

Skills:

• Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues patients families physicians and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

• Current applicable state RN license required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required.
