Shift Type: 3 X 12hrs. (36hrs. Week)

Job Summary:
  • As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients requiring intermediate care monitoring and intervention.
  • Working in the PCU requires specialized skills and knowledge to care for patients who are transitioning from intensive care units or requiring close monitoring and management of their condition.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide support to patients and their families during their stay.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients conditions and implement nursing care plans tailored to their specific needs within the PCU setting.
  • Monitor vital signs administer medications and perform procedures as required by patient condition and physician orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Monitor telemetry readings and interpret cardiac rhythms providing timely intervention as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families on their conditions treatments and self-care techniques.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds case conferences and other team meetings to contribute to patient care planning and coordination.
  • Adhere to hospital policies procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote patient safety.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices advancements in nursing care and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program

License/Certification:
  • State License
  • BLS Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong clinical assessment critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-stress environment and collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
