Job Title:Travel Registered Nurse PACU (Recovery Room)
Location: Hyannis MA
Type: Contract 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift 5x8 Hours 40 Hours Per Week
Shift Options: 11:00 AM 7:30 PM OR 1:00 PM 9:30 PM
No Weekends No Holidays No On-Call
Pay Rate: $66 - $77/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse PACU (Recovery Room) for an exciting Travel job in Hyannis MA. The RN will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to surgical patients ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia including airway hemodynamic stability and neurological status.
Administer and monitor medications and IV therapies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and recovery progress.
Recognize and respond promptly to post-operative complications and emergencies.
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Educate patients and families regarding post-operative recovery and discharge planning.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies safety standards and infection control protocols.
Support charge nurse responsibilities and assist with unit workflow as needed.
Participate in quality improvement and patient care evaluation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse License.
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in ICU CVICU CVPA ER SDC or PACU within the last 5 years.
BLS Certification.
ACLS Certification.
PALS Certification.
Ability to pass facility pharmacology and arrhythmia examinations.
Strong skills in IV starts hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator care.
Preferred Qualifications
BSN Degree.
Prior PACU experience.
Prior Same Day Care experience.
Demonstrated ability to function in high-acuity post-operative environments.
