Average # of cases per day 20-25
Required Certifications (i.e. BLS ACLS) BLS/ACLS (PALS would be ideal but not required)
Common Cases General surgery GYN surgery Urology Surgery Orthopedic Surgery Podiatry Surgery - colon resections basic lap gen surgery cases hysterectomy and other lap GYN cases basic urology and nephrectomy/prostatectomy PCNL total knee replacement total hip replacement shoulder replacement knee scopes shoulder scopes and basic podiatry cases
Experience or Must have skills orthopedic surgery preferred; overall minimum 2 years in OR
Scrubbing required - RNs preferred; but will take 1 traveler with the skill and 1 without
Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment Yes charge nurse and sometimes they take an assignment depending on staffing. There is a supervisor who covers the department

Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling) No
Weeknight/Call Requirements Yes once in 6 weeks

Floating Requirements Yes to Ottawa at times
Scrub Color/Dress Code required to wear hospital provided scrubs
