As an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) at CHI St. Josephs Health you will be a pivotal healthcare professional delivering compassionate high-quality perioperative care that truly impacts our surgical patients well-being and recovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative intra-operative and immediate post-operative assessment planning and evaluation of surgical patients.
  • Prepare the operating room ensuring equipment instruments and sterile field meet AORN standards and patient-specific needs.
  • Circulate and/or scrub for diverse surgical procedures actively anticipating surgeons needs and maintaining patient safety.
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care surgical events and interventions in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons anesthesiologists surgical technologists and other care team members to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Implement nursing interventions delegated ordered or prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider within the perioperative setting.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique infection control protocols and patient safety initiatives (e.g. time-out).
Job Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Registered Nurse Licensed by the State of Minnesota.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of start date.

Preferred

  • OR/PACU experience.
