Sentara offers a newly graduated Registered Nurse with less than 12 months of experience a Nurse Residency Program that can give you the skills and support you need to make a successful transition into your professional practice.

What the program offers:

• No separate application and no application deadlines.
• Automatic enrollment for all newly hired graduate nurses.
• Available at all 12 Sentara hospitals.
• After orientation begin your Residency right away.
• 6-months of hands-on experience alongside trained preceptors in 6 areas: Medical-Surgical Intermediate Care Critical Care Emergency Operating Room and Womens Health
• Topics such as career pathing professional development leadership self-care and stress management.

Fast-track application requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
Licensure: Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain one
Experience: Graduating soon or graduated with less than one year of RN practice

For many of our Registered Nurse roles we welcome new graduate applicants. Were excited to share our starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses awaiting the NCLEX is $34.75 and new graduate registered nurses that have passed their NCLEX with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hr.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $36.00 - $36.00 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials on-call pay overtime shift premiums extra-shift incentives or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications experience location market conditions and business needs. Sentara offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental vision life and disability insurance; 401(k)/403(b) with employer match; paid time off (vacation sick time and holidays); paid parental and military leave; educational assistance or student loan repayment; and voluntary benefits.
