Unit Notes
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
General Medical Surgical nursing care. Skills and tasks required would be assessments care planning inter-professional communication utilization of the EHR IV pumps wound vacs heat/cooling pads feeding pumps feeding tubes chest tubes management of heparin and insulin drips IV therapy management.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Epic electronic record pyxis machines Accucheck blood glucose hospira IV pumps SCDs for VTE prevention heating/cooling pads telemetry monitoring
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1 Level 2 or tertiary experience. Candidate must have at least 1 year of experience at a like sized facility (450) beds.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT CRT BLS ACLS etc)
BLS IN State or compact RN license
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone Is call required If so how often Are weekends required) 12-hour shifts 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks
Medsurg RNs will float to areas in greatest need. Patient ratios are 1:5-6.
BLS and IN license (or compact license as of 7/1/20).
