Job Summary
The 4 South Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony North Hospital an achieved Magnet Hospital is a 30-bed unit which treats cardiac neuro and med-surg patients. This includes a variety of diagnoses including CHF COPD Chest Pain MI GI bleeds post-catheterization TIA TR bands and stroke. We receive overflow from anywhere in the hospital if they have a cardiac or neuro issue provided they meet unit criteria. Our mission is to provide excellent patient-centered care with teamwork and compassion. Our department appeals to anyone interested in furthering their skillset specifically in the realms of cardiac or neurological patients and who wish to be part of an amazing group of talented nurses who are genuinely passionate about the care of our patients.
For more than 50 years St. Anthony North Hospital has delivered optimal health care to the communities of Westminster Erie Brighton Broomfield Northglenn and Thornton. Highlights of our campus include 60000 square feet of integrated primary and specialty care physician clinics ambulatory surgery center birthing center with private birthing suites Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services over 150 inpatient beds and an outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging 2023 we received our prestigious Magnet designation! Built on the pillars of convenience wellness and person-centered care we offer inpatient and outpatient care at one site with an emphasis on preventive health wellness and health education.
As our RN you will assume responsibility for facilitating communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical emotional and spiritual needs of the patient advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.
Every day you will promote optimal patient health well-being and safety through the nursing process adhering to patient care standards guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act and demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care and our organizational mission.
To be successful in this role you will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to compassionate high-quality patient care strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to apply the nursing process effectively within a supportive mission-driven environment.
- Assess patients physical psychosocial cultural and spiritual needs through observation interview review of medical records & clinical data.
- Evaluates patients response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
- Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs incision/wound care medication administration catheterization and specimen collections.
- Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
- Document ongoing status interventions patient response and outcomes in an accurate timely manner.

- Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
- RN License in state of employment
- Basic Life Support American Heart Association
- NIHSS American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or internal transfer
- Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
Preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- One (1) year experience
