General Information
Beds: 35 beds; 6 fast track rooms
Avg. # of patients seen per day: 168
Experience 3 years ED experience needs to be in a fast paced facility
First-time traveler Upon Review with strong experience
Patient Types:
Neonate to Geriatrics - all ED diagnoses seen
Heavy Mental Health population
Invasive Neuro STEMI requiring Cath Lab stabilized and shipped out to St. Lukes
Trauma include but not limited to: GSW Stabbings Falls MVC
Patient Ratios:
Day & Night 1:4 (acuity based)
Fast Track - 1:6
Required Certifications:
BLS ACLS PALS NIHSS TNCC
Skills required
3 years of ED experience in fast paced ED
Cardiac rhythm interpretation IV skills basic knowledge of critical care drips and med administration NIHSS experience cannot obtain prior to start TPA administration blood administration procedural sedation code blue experience
Triage experience (strongly preferred)
Support on the Unit:
Unit secretary 24/7
ED Tech 24/7 able to draw blood glucose checks
Charge nurse may rarely have lower acuity assignment dependent on staffing
Phlebotomy may respond in Traumas; may assist with blood cultures or difficult sticks
RT 24/7
ED Physicians 24/7
Mid-Level providers 24/7
ED Educator
OT PT ST
Security Locked unit and home base is in lobby of ED
Central and bedside telemetry monitoring
Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC
Alaris
Pyxis
Floating:
N/A
Orientation:
(2) 12 hr shifts on unit
Scheduling:
Shift times: dependent on requisition
Weekend rotation every other

Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays or every other
