RN Ambulatory Care - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The RN Ambulatory Care shall observe and assess the patients clinical condition recognizing identifying and interpreting serious situations and immediately deciding and taking appropriate action.
- Shall formulate a nursing diagnosis.
- Shall develop a plan of care for individual patients by interviewing patients and family members reviewing the patients health record and determining the kind of health and physical care required including discharge planning.
- Shall initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations when physicians are not immediately available.
- Shall operate and monitor general and specialized nursing equipment utilized in the Ambulatory Care department.
- The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse shall administer therapeutic measures and medications as prescribed by the physician.
- Planning providing and documenting the teaching of patients and families in preventive curative and rehab measures.
- Recording observations and nursing interventions as well as therapeutic administered measures and the status of coordinated activities between nursing and other professional disciplines.
- Shall complete the Indian Health Service required training.
- Proper and adequate services for patient care shall be in accordance with the standard of nursing practices and shall be equal in quality to services normally performed for the public.
- Education: Must possess a bachelors degree in nursing and eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement provision OR possession of a bachelors degree in nursing and at least one full year of professional nursing experience OR possess a diploma or associate degree in professional nursing. Schooling must be approved by the ACEN or CCNE.
- Certifications:Must have active Basic Life Support (BLS).
- License/Registration: All nurses shall possess a current valid unrestricted nursing license in a state the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a Territory of the United States throughout the term of this contract.
- Experience: Shall have thirty-six 36) months of nursing experience with a minimum of two (2) years in the specialty required by the contract unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer.
