Job Summary
JOB TITLE: Community Support Professional Respite
DEPARTMENT: Community Living
SUPERVISORS TITLE: Community Living Director

JOB STATUS: Full-Time Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Varies; hours may vary to accommodate needs of person served.
Summary:
Provide community-based respite support to individuals with extraordinary support needs. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life by promoting independence community participation and meaningful daily experiences while ensuring health safety and person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver respite services in alignment with each individuals Individualized Support Plan (ISP)
Support individuals with daily living skills personal care and community integration
Foster independence self-advocacy and informed decision-making
Provide transportation to community activities appointments and services as needed
Monitor individual progress and communicate updates to the team
Complete accurate and timely documentation including service notes and medication records
Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals families and community partners
Support individuals in leisure recreational and social activities
Provide crisis intervention and emergency support when necessary
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate empathy patience and professionalism
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of person-centered practices and advocacy
Ability to support individuals with diverse needs and abilities
Physical & Work Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays
Ability to work every other weekend
Ability to provide personal care (e.g. toileting bathing feeding) with dignity and respect
Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility support
Frequent standing walking bending and lifting
Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
May be required to provide support in other Community Living programs (e.g. Supported Living In-Home Services) as needed
Valid drivers license reliable transportation and proof of insurance
Certifications & Training Requirements:
CPR First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens certification
Certified Restraint Training
Core A & B certification
Completion of required agency and regulatory trainings (e.g. Human Rights Safety Medication Administration)

Education/Experience Requirements:
