We are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance and accounting team. Working closely with Corporate and divisional finance teams this position will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of revenue-related transactions and compliance with applicable revenue recognition accounting guidelines including ASC 606.

The Revenue Accountant will also oversee accounting for deferred revenue perform monthly account reconciliations for deferred revenue unbilled revenue and accounts receivable and provide accurate analysis of customer and sales metrics to Sales and Finance leadership.

• Analyze multi-element arrangements and process daily revenue transactions using an ERP system.
• Review executed revenue contracts and agreements to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with ASC 606.
• Maintain and enforce internal control procedures and documentation requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Perform monthly quarterly and annual revenue close activities.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to:
  • Unbilled receivables
  • Accounts receivable
  • Deferred revenue
• Assist with analysis used to establish Standalone Selling Prices (SSP) for products and services.
• Prepare quarterly reporting schedules required for financial statement disclosures.
• Participate in ERP system implementations enhancements and revenue automation initiatives.
• Participate in annual external audits and provide requested accounting documentation.
• Prepare ad hoc reports financial analyses and special projects for management.
• Identify opportunities to automate streamline and improve revenue accounting processes and reporting.

• Excellent interpersonal organizational and systems skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Strong understanding of revenue accounting and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly proactive with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Flexible and organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong team player with a high level of honesty integrity and professionalism.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 24 years of accounting experience preferably within a software technology or similar industry.
• Experience with ERP systems particularly NetSuite or comparable platforms.
• Experience with revenue automation tools such as NetSuite ARM preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Understanding of SOX/internal control requirements preferred.

Annual Base Salary: $75000 $90000

Actual compensation may vary based on education training experience professional qualifications business requirements and location.

The posted salary range may encompass multiple career levels. Final compensation and job level will be determined during the interview process based on the candidates experience qualifications and alignment with the responsibilities of the position.
