UNT Dining Services is home to Mean Greens Café the nations first 100% vegan collegiate dining hall and Kitchen West Texas first and only university dining hall certified Free From the Big 8 food allergens and 2021 UNT introduced Eagle Landing the universitys first standalone dining hall inspired by urban food halls and featuring seven distinct restaurant conceptsall available for a single Meal Plan swipe.

Horton Award and the Vegan Recipe Award from the National Association of College and University Food Services. As a founding member of the Menus of Change University Research Collaborative UNT plays an active role in pioneering research on plant-forward diets food waste reduction and consumer food choices all while advancing the principles of healthy sustainable menus.

Position Overview

University of North Texas Dining Services is seeking dependable and customer-focused Hourly Dining Associates to support daily operations across UNT Retail Dining locations. Our retail dining venues include a variety of quick-service restaurants cafés and branded concepts that serve students faculty staff and campus visitors.

In this role you will assist with a variety of front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities to ensure efficient daily operations and an exceptional guest experience. Duties may include preparing food and beverages assembling customer orders operating a cash register and point-of-sale system stocking food and supplies maintaining clean and organized work areas following food safety and sanitation standards and providing friendly professional customer service. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering excellent customer service. Strong communication skills the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and a positive attitude are essential. Previous experience in food service retail dining hospitality or customer service is preferred but not required.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic understanding of food service sanitation and safety practices or the ability to learn and apply them quickly.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties

• Prepare and serve food and beverages by following standardized recipes portion guidelines and quality standards to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests accurately taking and fulfilling orders operating the point-of-sale (POS) system and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by properly operating food service equipment handling food safely cleaning workstations and following all health safety and security procedures.
• Support daily retail dining operations by stocking food beverages and supplies washing dishes and utensils as needed and maintaining clean organized dining and kitchen areas. -
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of UNT Retail Dining locations and contribute to a positive dining experience for the campus community.

Repetitive motions that may include the wrists hands and/or fingers.
