Respiratory Therapy Technician II

Are you a 2nd year Respiratory Therapy studentAs a Respiratory Therapy Tech II you will provide professional respiratory therapy services to children/young adults as a member of our interdisciplinary team. This position works under a licensed respiratory therapist within the framework of physicians orders care team guidelines individualized care plans professional and regulatory guidelines and ChildServe policies and procedures.

Wage: $20/hour
Retention bonus option will be discussed in Interview.

What Youll Do

• Maintain accurate completed and timely records as defined by standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Within the scope of practice physicians orders and the childs care plan delivers a full range of care based on the fundamentals of the nursing/therapy process. This includes inhaled medication therapy chest physiotherapy oxygen therapy PEP therapy CPAP therapy and BIPAP therapy. Assist with care of artificial airways.
• Responsible for staying current with all unit and ChildServe specific information. Engages in development and learning that advances skills and competencies of self. Demonstrates good stewardship of ChildServe equipment supplies and environment.
• Communicates effectively respectfully and professionally with children physicians families school personnel ChildServe staff and others to assure assigned childs care needs are assessed communicated and met.

What Youll Need

• Currently enrolled in a respiratory therapy program and have one year of the program completed.
  
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
  
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs be mobile within the assigned work area and frequently bend lift reach and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading writing and speaking the English language.
