Job Summary

Resolutions Specialist
Position Purpose:
The Resolution Specialist plays a vital role in managing delinquencies providing excellent member service and ensuring compliance with the credit unions policies and procedures. This position is responsible for resolving early mid and late-stage delinquent accounts conducting account reviews and developing action plans to address overdue payments. The role encompasses both training and mentoring responsibilities and includes more advanced tasks as experience and performance milestones are met.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Contacts delinquent loan holders via phone and mail taking appropriate action to bring accounts current. This includes making payment arrangements to collect debts and analyzing the financial situations of delinquent borrowers to identify potential issues such as recommending repossession of collateral when other arrangements fail. The role also focuses on addressing early (1029 days) mid (3059 days) and late-stage delinquencies (60 days to charge-off) reviewing accounts for overdue payments and developing actionable plans to resolve delinquencies. Responsibilities include managing Promise-to-Pay (PTP) accounts processing payment skips recommending delinquent loans for charge-off and contacting members to facilitate collection efforts. Contacts owners of negative share accounts to make payment arrangements and recover debts.
  • Focuses on delivering exceptional member service by addressing payment challenges guiding members through loan workout solutions or hardship accommodations and initiating the process for third-party vendor claims related to disability unemployment and death.
  • Assist Resolution support specialist and Manager of Resolutions in maintaining a backlog-free workload in support of legal filings and bankruptcy
  • Complete monthly reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Experience & Skills Required:
Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution building relationships and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other skills Ability to troubleshoot comprehend and follow complex technical procedures. Attention to detail. Basic Excel experience required.
