Research Support Coordinator
Job Summary
The Clinical Trials Statistical and Data Management Center (CTSDMC) in the Department of Biostatistics is seeking a Research Support Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting trials conducted at the Center. This position will provide administrative support to various CTSDMC functions support the timely submission of grant applications maintain faculty biosketches and other support pages and coordinate a variety of research operations activities. This position joins a team of research support personnel to ensure the operational and financial aspects of the CTSDMC are supported.
Responsibilities:
Grant Exploration and Development:
Assist in the development and coordination of CTSDMC grant proposals
Prepare grant application packages using appropriate application format (i.e. Cayuse) and assure timely completion
Prepare proposal routing forms for approval
Manage biosketches and other support pages for CTSDMC-associated faculty
Post-Award Administration/Financial Responsibility:
May prepare administrative portions of grant progress reports and monitor for completeness.
May initiate and/or monitor subcontracts or Professional Service Agreements (PSAs) for various funded projects.
Liaise with University Shared Services on initiating and updating Purchase Orders for expenditures required by the CTSDMC and/or CTSDMC projects. Work with external vendors as necessary to secure appropriate products licenses and services.
Compliance:
Monitor compliance with contract/ grant terms and federal guidelines as applicable.
Track deadlines and ensure deliverables are met.
Operational/Administrative Support:
Organize project-related meetings and events by providing administrative support.
Assist in the scheduling of meetings by coordinating multiple complex calendars for project staff and leadership. May also attend meetings and take minutes.
Coordinate project-related travel for CTSDMC leadership and staff
May provide support directly within funded projects including administratively managing and supporting committees tracking publications and presentations and preparing and providing reports to leadership.
Initiate routine financial transactions and purchases.
External Communications and Negotiations:
Respond or coordinate a response to general inquiries from internal colleagues external partners and/or sponsors and funding agencies.
Assist in the development and maintenance of public-facing websites for CTSDMC and related projects ensuring all websites meet accessibility requirements and adhere to other applicable guidelines.
Leadership/Supervision:
May provide functional supervision over other administrative staff and/or student employees
Required:
Requires the academic knowledge of a discipline and the ability to translate adapt and apply this knowledge that is usually associated with a Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce a variety of documents that demonstrate command of language clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
Excellent attention to detail including the ability to process information with high levels of accuracy.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft computer programs particularly Excel.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience delivering excellent service in a customer-driven environment.
Experience working in a team or group towards a common goal.
Experience in pre-award grant preparation for federal and/or private sponsors.
Working knowledge of University policies procedures and regulations.
Position and Application Details:
This position is eligible for on campus hybrid within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with theremote work program and related policiesandemployee travel policy when working at a remote location.
