In this position...
This engineer authors and maintains the backbone of Ford Energys quality V-Model: the system and component-level technical requirements and their corresponding validation test methods. Well-written verifiable requirements paired with rigorous test methods are the foundation that allows Failure Mode Avoidance certification and Factory Acceptance Testing to function as an integrated system rather than disconnected activities. This role demands precision systems thinking and close collaboration with nearly every other engineering discipline in the organization.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
- Requirements Authoring
- Write clear unambiguous verifiable and testable engineering requirements at the system subsystem and component levels.
- Ensure requirements follow proper structure (shall-statements single-thought measurable acceptance criteria) consistent with systems engineering best practice.
- Decompose top-level customer and regulatory requirements into detailed technical requirements allocated to specific subsystems/components.
Qualifications
Youll have...
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
- 2 years of experience authoring technical requirements and test specifications for complex electromechanical or energy systems.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS Jama Polarion or similar).
- Systems Engineering certification (e.g. INCOSE CSEP).
- Experience with high-voltage battery or power electronics validation test methods.
Even Better you may have...
- Background in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) practices.
- 5 years of experience authoring technical requirements and test specifications for complex electromechanical or energy systems.
- Test data management systems
- This role is primarily performed in an office laboratory manufacturing or supplier environment depending on program needs.
- Occasional work in high-voltage or industrial environments may be required with appropriate training and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to support testing supplier manufacturing or customer activities.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99100-$166200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
This position is hybrid with a requirement to be onsite four or more days per week.
