We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Remote Medical Records / Health Information Clerk to join our administrative team. This role is ideal for a professional who values accuracy confidentiality and efficient healthcare information management while supporting quality patient care.

Position Summary

The Remote Medical Records / Health Information Clerk is responsible for managing organizing maintaining and processing healthcare records in accordance with company policies privacy standards and regulatory requirements. This position supports healthcare operations by ensuring patient information is accurate accessible secure and properly documented.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive healthcare information with professionalism and discretion.



Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain update and organize electronic medical records and health information systems.
  • Review medical documentation for accuracy completeness and proper formatting.
  • Process requests for medical records while following privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Enter patient information accurately into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Verify documentation and identify missing or incomplete information.
  • Organize digital files reports and healthcare documents.
  • Ensure records are maintained according to company procedures and healthcare information standards.
  • Assist healthcare teams with locating and retrieving required documentation.
  • Support quality assurance activities by reviewing records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Communicate with internal teams regarding documentation needs and record updates.
  • Prepare reports and documentation summaries when requested.
  • Assist with administrative healthcare tasks and special projects.
  • Participate in onboarding training sessions and team meetings.
  • Perform additional health information management duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in medical records health information management healthcare administration or data entry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality practices and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information professionally.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn healthcare software systems.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Health Information Management Healthcare Administration or a related field.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards.
  • Experience in home healthcare senior care medical offices or clinical environments.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Previous remote healthcare administrative experience.
  • Certification such as RHIT RHIA or other health information credentials is a plus.
