Title: Release Train Engineer - Contract
Duration: Through 4/23/27
Location: Onsite 2 days/week at any Deloitte office
Role Summary
The Release Train Engineer is the servant leader and chief facilitator for an Agile Release Train (ART) supporting product teams. The RTE coordinates planning execution and continuous improvement across multiple Scrum teams helping them deliver predictable high-quality value aligned to the firms business priorities and the Financial Advisor and Branch experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate PI Planning including preparation execution and follow-through and drive alignment on objectives dependencies and commitments.
- Run ART execution events: Scrum of Scrums System Demos Inspect & Adapt workshops and PO Syncs.
- Coach Scrum Masters Product Owners and Product Management in Agile and SAFe practices and strengthen team and program maturity.
- Identify track and resolve cross-team dependencies impediments and risks and escalate to senior stakeholders when needed.
- Manage program-level backlog readiness capacity and release readiness in partnership with Product Management and Architecture.
- Establish and report on program metrics such as predictability flow velocity quality and PI objective attainment using tools like Jira and Jira Align.
- Partner with client business and technology leaders to communicate progress risks and outcomes clearly and transparently.
- Collaborate with Deloitte and Edward Jones leadership to align staffing skills and capacity to roadmap needs.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote a culture of collaboration accountability and learning.
- 8 years of experience in technology delivery with 3 years as an RTE Program Manager or Senior Scrum Master in a scaled Agile environment.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or equivalent (SAFe Program Consultant preferred).
- Proven experience facilitating PI Planning and coordinating multi-team programs.
- Strong command of Agile Scrum Kanban and SAFe frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Jira Jira Align Confluence or similar tools.
- Excellent communication facilitation and stakeholder management skills including with senior executives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and resolve conflict constructively.
- Servant leadership strategic thinking cross-team collaboration risk management coaching and outcome-driven delivery.
- Experience in financial services wealth management or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with enterprise modernization integration or data programs.
- Experience working in blended onshore nearshore and offshore delivery models.
- Additional certifications such as SAFe Agilist PMP or ICP-ACC.
