As our PRN Rehab Tech you will assist licensed therapists in providing therapeutic care and support to patients undergoing rehabilitation.
Every day you will prepare treatment areas help patients with exercises and mobility manage equipment and maintain a safe and organized clinical environment as delegated.
To be successful you will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills attention to detail and a proactive approach to supporting patient progress and therapist needs within the rehabilitation setting.
- Receives work assignments and information concerning the preparation for and performance of therapy activities from the Therapist. May provide set up and supervision as directed by a therapist for routine treatments such as: whirlpool and paraffin baths ultrasound gait training exercise and the application of hot and cold packs; using techniques in a safe and acceptable manner.
- Observes patients during treatments and notifies Therapist of any physical distress or equipment malfunctioning. Records patient and treatment data in the patients medical record as directed.
- Transports prepares/positions patient for a treatment or evaluation as directed by a therapist. Obtains necessary equipment materials and supplies from storage areas and prepares them for use.
- Performs clerical functions to include: patient registration scheduling charge entry faxing photocopying and delivery of therapy notes/records to the appropriate physician(s) or other hospital personnel.
- Periodically inventories supplies. Assists with ordering stocking and cleaning of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Authorized to make entries in the medical record consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
Preferred
- Prior experience working in a rehabilitation or other health care facility with direct patient care
