Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director The Polysomnography Technician is responsible for providing Sleep Testing services in accordance with specific physicians orders department policies and procedures.Position Details:

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) to join our dedicated Sleep Lab team.
In this role youll play an important part in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders by performing comprehensive sleep studies monitoring patients throughout testing and collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff. Qualifications:
Education: HS Diploma/equivalent OR Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program
Experience: 6 months experience preferred
Certifications: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) certification; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire
What Youll Do
Perform comprehensive overnight sleep studies in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
Assess patients obtain sleep histories and complete required documentation
Apply and monitor sleep testing equipment ensuring accurate data collection
Score sleep studies and assist with test interpretation processes
Administer and monitor CPAP BiPAP and oxygen therapy as ordered
Monitor patient oxygen saturation levels and identify potential therapy-related concerns
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record
Verify orders diagnoses and testing requirements
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed
Perform equipment cleaning maintenance and sterilization according to department guidelines
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care
Maintain required certifications competencies and continuing education requirements
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED or graduate of an accredited Polysomnography Program
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire
Preferred
Six months of polysomnography or sleep lab experience
Experience performing and scoring sleep studies
Knowledge of CPAP BiPAP and oxygen therapy modalities
Strong critical thinking communication and patient care skills
