The Same Day Surgery Center at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive and stable work environment caring for a variety of patients across the life span. This 15- Surgical Suite unit features self-scheduling 12-hour shifts and every-other-weekend rotation helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses in this unit benefit from a collaborative team culture and the opportunity to gain diverse clinical experience.

How youll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions including medication administration specimen collection clinical treatments and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors records and communicates patient condition to the care team physicians patients and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene elimination nutrition ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers discharges referrals psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What were looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelors degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of Outpatient Surgery RN experience required.
