Registered Nurse (RN) USDA Job Corps Clinical Support Services
Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Client: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service Job Corps Program
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Hours: 2080 hours annually (40 hours/week)
Schedule: MondayFriday typically 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Evening or weekend schedules may be required based on center needs and mutual agreement
Includes two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Federal holidays observed

Locations:
Multiple USDA Forest Service Job Corps Centers throughout the United States (specific location assigned upon award)

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing services to Job Corps students ages 1624. The RN performs health assessments triage sick call emergency care chronic disease management health education immunization review medical record management and wellness program support while ensuring compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and Job Corps Health and Wellness requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial health assessments within students first 48 hours
  • Conduct sick call and treat minor illnesses and injuries
  • Administer medications and treatments under physician orders
  • Provide emergency nursing care and trauma response
  • Review immunization status and coordinate vaccinations
  • Monitor students with chronic medical and mental health conditions
  • Coordinate referrals with physicians dentists mental health providers and community resources
  • Educate students on nutrition hygiene reproductive health HIV/STDs exercise and disease prevention
  • Maintain medical records and reports
  • Assist with Job Corps compliance assessments and quality assurance activities
  • Maintain BLS certification
  • Participate in wellness committees tobacco prevention HEALs disability accommodations and staff training

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state where services are provided
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.
  • Maintain required licensure and professional credentials throughout the contract period
