About the Facility Atlanta VAMC
Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) a Joint Commission designated medical facility sits on 26 acres in Decatur Georgiajust minutes from downtown Atlanta. The main medical center is a level 1A tertiary care facility providing patient-centered healthcare via an array of comprehensive medical surgical geriatric specialty services as well as state-ofthe-art diagnostic testing throughout 14 sites of care. With 466 inpatient beds including a 120-bed Community Living Center a 40-bed domiciliary and a 21-bed Residential Treatment Program the Atlanta VAMC is uniquely positioned to serve the healthcare needs of more than 130000 enrolled Veterans living in 50 counties across northeast Georgia. The Medical Center also a teaching hospital provides hands-on and state-of-the-art technology education and research to residents in collaboration with Emory University School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine.

RN - Long Term Care - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
- The Registered Nurse - Long Term Care shall provide services in the long-term care division comprised of 3 long-term care units: long-term short-stay hospice/palliative care residents.
- Shall be responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- The Registered Nurse - LTC shall assess plans implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- Shall be responsible for patient activities of daily living assessments medication administering medication and procedures per established policies and guidelines ion administration IV therapy interdisciplinary team coordination admissions and discharges internal and external transfers delegating to assistive personnel electronic medical record documentation patient transport and emergency response procedures.
RN - Long-Term Care - REQUIREMENTS
- Completed courses for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
- A current license in at least one state territory or commonwealth in the US or the District of Columbia.
- A minimum of three years direct patient care experience.
- Must have Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
