Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Adult Emergency Department at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Massachusetts. As western Massachusetts only Level I Trauma Center the Adult Emergency Department cares for patients experiencing a wide range of emergent urgent and critical healthcare needs. Nurses work alongside emergency physicians advanced practice providers respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to develop advanced emergency nursing skills care for a diverse patient population and make a meaningful impact during some of the most critical moments in a patients healthcare journey while serving the community as part of a highly skilled emergency care team.
- Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process including assessment planning implementation and evaluation.
- Deliver evidence-based emergency nursing care to patients with acute complex and traumatic conditions.
- Recognize acute changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.
- Administer medications treatments and procedures in accordance with department and hospital standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis treatment and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives patient care rounds and shared governance activities.
- Maintain clinical competencies and uphold Baystate Healths standards of professional nursing practice.

- Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends required

- Must have 10 months or more of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Any exception must be approved by the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

Typically a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidates relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
