Registered Nurse ICU

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Catherine Hospital is an eight-bed ICU. We staff an intensivist 24 hours per day we care for a wide range of patients from sepsis COPD exacerbation respiratory distress pneumonia heat failure GI bleed renal failure and overdose. We take care of patients with art lines central lines intubations procedures and telemetry monitoring for floor patients as well. We occasionally receive over flow from the med/surg floor if they are full.We are on a mission to provide the best care for all patients from pediatrics to geriatrics and all those in between. Individuals might want to join our department because we are known for our collaborative teamwork. We are more of a family than co-workers. The employees support one another and never leave anyone behind. We can self-schedule and have a chance to develop a multitude of skills. There is a variety of personalities on our unit because that allows us to provide the best care to each patient individually.

As our RN you will assume responsibility for facilitating communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical emotional and spiritual needs of the patient advancing modern nursing through compassionate care.

To be successful in this role you will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to compassionate high-quality patient care strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to apply the nursing process effectively within a supportive mission-driven environment.

• Assess patients physical psychosocial cultural and spiritual needs through observation interview review of medical records & clinical data.
• Evaluates patients response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs incision/wound care medication administration catheterization and specimen and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Document ongoing status interventions patient response and outcomes in an accurate timely information technology to communicate manage knowledge mitigate error and support decision-making.
• Promote advocate and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness needs and ability.
• Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.

We are offering a $10000 sign on in addition to up to $8000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

• Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
• Active and unencumbered RN License in state of employment
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• One year RN ED experience
• TNCC or TCAR within one year of hire
• Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
