POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plans and supervises the nursing care delivered to geriatric psychiatric geriatric pediatric adolescent and adult patients in designated units in accordance with all standards governing our facility. Maintains overall departmental operations in accordance with the facilities mission and philosophy. Additionally responsible for functioning as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Current License by State Board of Nursing

Current BLS required

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move sit stand walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
2. Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
3. Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.

5. Position has a moderate expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
