PositionSummary:

• Prepares patients for procedures per physician orders and established protocols including NPO verification andsite confirmation.

• Initiates IV access administers pre-procedure medications and prepares contrast agents or procedural medications as ordered.

• Assistsphysicians during procedural and interventional radiology casesanticipatingneeds andmaintainingsterile or aseptictechniques.

• Monitors patients throughout procedures including vital signs cardiac rhythm oxygenation level of consciousness and pain.

• Administers medications IV fluids and moderate sedation perproviderorders and organizational policy.

• Provides post-procedure recovery and monitoring until discharge criteria are met.

Quality Safety and Compliance:

• Adheres to state nurse practice acts ASC accreditation standards (AAAHC) and radiation safety requirements.

• Ensures compliance with infection prevention sterile technique and contrast safety protocols.

• Follows radiation safety practices includinguseof personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitoring devices when.

• Participatesin performance improvement initiatives regulatory surveys and emergency preparedness drills.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education bachelors degree RN certified. Preferred

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofpractice

• CPR ACLS/BLS.

• 5 yrs. experience preferably in Interventional Radiology emergency/critical medicine and/or code team experiencepreferred.
