About the Role We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract opportunity in Wrangell Alaska. This role supports Emergency Department and ambulatory care services and requires strong clinical judgment emergency response skills and the ability to provide safe patient-centered care across all age groups.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to emergency and ambulatory care patients.
Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care needs.
Respond calmly and effectively in urgent and emergent situations.
Administer medications treatments and nursing interventions as ordered.
Monitor patient condition and identify changes requiring immediate action.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary care teams.
Provide patient and family education discharge instructions and emotional support.
Document patient care accurately using Cerner.
Support safe care delivery infection control and facility protocols.
Requirements
Active Alaska Registered Nurse license required.
BLS certification required.
PALS certification required upon hire.
ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Emergency Room or ambulatory care experience preferred.
Cerner experience preferred.
Must have flu vaccination.
Two fingerprint cards must be submitted immediately upon acceptance.
Traveler must live at least 50 miles from the facility.
Holiday coverage required.
Strong assessment communication critical thinking and emergency response skills required.
