Fintech is seeking a Regional Human Resources Manager to provide senior-level hands-on Human Resources leadership across the Western United States. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced private equity-backed environment and enjoys translating complex employment requirements into practical scalable business solutions.
As a manager-level individual contributor you will serve as a multi-state subject matter expert for employment compliance employee relations leaves of absence accommodation wage and hour practices HR operations and workforce support. You will partner closely with the current Human Resources team Talent Acquisition Learning and Development as well as Payroll/Finance Benefits Legal and business leaders while applying sound judgment discretion and confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
Regional Employment Law and HR Compliance
Serve as the companys subject matter expert on Western United States employment law and Human Resources compliance.
Advise managers and business leaders on regional employment practices employee relations matters workplace accommodations leaves of absence wage and hour compliance and pay practices.
Maintain current working knowledge of applicable Western U.S. state and local employment requirements agency guidance and compliance obligations.
Translate regional legal requirements into practical Human Resources policies procedures training materials and operational processes.
Ensure Western U.S. compliance practices incorporate applicable state and local ordinances including required notices postings and employment-related obligations within individual HRIS accounts.
Multi-State and Federal Compliance
Support Human Resources compliance activities for employees across the Western United States and other assigned jurisdictions.
Track and operationalize state-specific employment requirements related to leave administration pay practices onboarding pay transparency recordkeeping required notices training and separation processes.
Partner with Human Resources leadership to maintain scalable multi-state policies and state-specific addenda where requirements differ.
Apply a practical most protective applicable requirement approach where federal state and local requirements overlap.
Federal Employment Law Compliance
Maintain working knowledge of federal employment laws and agency frameworks applicable to private employers including FLSA FMLA ADA Title VII PWFA ADEA GINA NLRA and related compliance requirements.
Advise management on the practical application of federal employment regulations.
Partner with Human Resources and Payroll/Finance to ensure compliance practices are applied consistently across jurisdictions.
Monitor federal compliance developments and recommend updates to Human Resources policies practices and training programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field or equivalent practical Human Resources experience. HR certification such as SHRM-SCP SHRM-CP SPHR or equivalent preferred.
Seven (7) years of progressive Western U.S. and multi-state Human Resources experience in Human Resources Management as a Human Resources Business Partner Compliance or Human Resources Operations roles.
Demonstrated ability to operate successfully as a manager-level individual contributor while effectively partnering with executives managers employees legal counsel as appropriate payroll finance and Human Resources teams.
Deep knowledge of Western U.S. employment law and Human Resources compliance with strong working knowledge of federal employment regulations and multi-state employment practices.
Practical working knowledge of leave administration workplace accommodations disability management and applicable state and federal employment regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex Human Resources and compliance matters clearly and professionally.
Strong judgment discretion confidentiality organization follow-through and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and BI reporting AI-enabled workplace technologies Microsoft Office applications including mid to advanced level Excel proficiency.
Preferred Experience
Experience in a fast-paced private equity-backed company financial technology organization or technology-driven environment preferred.
Experience maintaining Western U.S.-focused Human Resources programs while supporting employees across multiple states.
Experience supporting Human Resources audits SOC compliance reporting workforce analytics pay transparency initiatives and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Experience supporting organizational growth workforce transitions mergers acquisitions and change management initiatives.
