Summary

This vacancy is for a Regional Director position at the Department of Commerce U.S. Census Bureau Field Division Denver Regional Office located in Lakewood CO.

This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Regional Director 0301-15 FPL None positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.


Duties
  • Planning preparing directing managing and supporting a large- scale program of field data collection operation i.e. survey census etc.
  • Develop staff for succession planning including team building and the maintenance of highly effective and efficient field workforce.
  • Implementing and managing of administrative rules regulations and policies for payroll and personnel for recruiting hiring retaining and paying a large decentralized field staff.
  • Planning coordinating deploying and managing automated systems and property for field data collection.

  • The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour.
  • With a Mixed Tour work schedule an employee may be changed between full-time part-time and intermittent work schedules to accommodate fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

To qualify for the position of Regional Director at GSyou must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes managing or supervising a large group of employees that are geographically dispersed; planning and overseeing a nationwide or multi state household; setting priorities establishing milestones and schedules and identifying resources for projects or programs; overseeing a wide range of administrative operations and support services; preparing and presenting speeches to a variety of agencies and representatives to establish and maintain working relationships.

Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer.
