At the Recuperative Care Program Preble Street works in partnership with Greater Portland Health and Maine Medical Center in an innovative program that provides medical services and social services to people experiencing homelessness who have been discharged from hospital care offering a safe supportive environment in which to recover in a 15-bed 24-hour trauma-informed care facility.

Preble Street is seeking a 2nd shift Caseworker to actively engage with clients through the programming of the Recuperative Care Program (RCP). The Caseworker will support clients receiving medical and behavioral health care in their continued recovery by providing direct services maintaining a safe environment ensuring staff coverage in the program and performing comprehensive case management services.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) TuesdaySaturday 2:30 p.m.10:30 p.m. schedule.



Qualifications

Qualifications include a bachelors degree in social work or related field of study and experience in or relevant to providing direct services to people experiencing homelessness or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.

Also required are an understanding of and alignment with Preble Streets mission positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty; a commitment to providing low-barrier services; strong communication de-escalation and crisis intervention skills; familiarity with community resources; strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain documentation of services; ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $23.82 per hour. As a direct service position in a 24/7 program this position is eligible for shift differentials of $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm or $2.00 per hour between 10:00pm and 7:00am.
